Justina and Jayant attended the University of Chicago. And never met. Not until a few years later at least. For their wedding they chose the beautiful Rockfeller Chapel, one of the most impressive churches I’ve been working in. With impressive high gothic vaults and a bare stone paved floor. We took pictures at Millennium Park and the Planetarium. Reception was at the elegant Waldorf Astoria, former Elisyan.

Daisy and Hodge, Weddings, Tucson, Arizona

We all met in Rome 11 years ago but we didn’t see this coming till a few months ago. It was the first time I took wedding pictures for friends and it was very emotional. Daisy and Hodge arranged their wedding in 12 days. They got married at the beautiful Tohono Chul Park, in Tucson, Arizona, and had the ceremony streamed live for friends and family spread around the globe. Officiant was Ms Kristine Bentz of Sweetgrass Ceremonies. Filming and streaming by Beyond Video.

Missy and Jason, Chicago, Weddings

Missy has been following my work since I arrived in town a few years ago and these are the images from her wedding with Jason. We started in the West, drove to the lake and the MCA and finished at Lovely, a bakery on Milwaukee. If you don’t get married there make sure to have at least one of their cupcakes. Chocolate of course.

William and Hernan, Engagements, Chicago

William is one of the first persons I met arriving in Chicago. He and Hernan met just around my house in Uptown and they couldn’t move to Florida without first taking some pictures in Chicago. Fulton Market and the lake made a perfect setting.

A summer wedding in winter. How amazing. After a cerimony in India, Carolyn and Banerjee got married a second time in the stunning Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, in St. Charles, Illinois. Carolyn’s bridesmaids wore my favorite color, cobalt blue, and paired it with orange toned bouquets and pearl necklaces… perfect! I love St. Charles with its laid back atmosphere, the Fox river water rushing by the Baker Hotel, the relaxed countryside. Reception was at the elegant Royal Fox Country Club.

Emily and Jeff, Weddings, Lombard, Illinois

Emily and Jeff got married at the Westin Hotel in Lombard. It was only a few days ago and about 50 degrees less! A few snow flakes were blowing in the wind: what a contrast with the sunny engagement pictures we took together last summer. A solid standing from Iowa brought back a lot of memories and the flash mob on the dance floor was memorable.

Jacqueline and Sang, Weddings, Chicago

My first wedding of 2012, with Jacqueline and Sang. We started at the Hotel Sax and then braved the wind at Olive Park and North Avenue Beach. Ceremony was at the beautiful St. Michael, in Oldtown and before heading to the reception we took more pictures in the setting light. Jacqueline and Sang performed the best first dance ever and all their guests took to the dance floor. Music was performed by The Flat Cats.

This was my last wedding of 2011. We had this idea to shoot the wedding and take whatever weather would come but with the promise to meet a few days later, on a nice day, to take some extra pictures. Francee and Mike got married at the Stan Mansion, and the large dance floor was the perfect setting to a hilarious dance challenge. The following week we met at Lincoln Park, which is one of my very favorite locations in Chicago.
